Con la construcción del colector de aguas, Tangancícuaro avanza en el saneamiento del Río Santuario y la Cuenca del Río Duero, como parte de las acciones que de manera conjunta han trazado los gobiernos estatal y municipal para garantizar, mejorar y aprovechar el vital líquido.
El Presidente Municipal de Tangancícuaro, David Melgoza Montañez, y el regidor Diego Madrigal Ibarra, denunciaron la invasión que particulares han hecho en los límites del Río Santuario, reduciendo con ello el caudal del afluente y aumentando el riesgo de sufrir inundaciones en las colonias colindantes.
Este año la administración municipal limpió el arroyo, previo a la temporada de lluvias, pero en virtud a que las construcciones asentadas en los márgenes del río dificultan el acceso de las máquinas, los trabajos se realizaron a mano y eso evitó el desbordamiento del mismo.
“Hay muchas construcciones en los linderos del río, lo que dificulta la limpieza del canal, cuando llegan las lluvias el cauce no alcanza a darle salida al agua por lo estrecho y se inundan partes de Tangancicuaro. Este año no tuvimos inundaciones, se logró limpiar a tiempo”, dijo aliviado el regidor Diego Madrigal.
Justo frente al puente del Río Santuario se construye actualmente una gasolinera, misma que recibió los permisos por parte del gobierno municipal anterior.
El proyecto de saneamiento, añadió, consta de cinco etapas e incluye la construcción de un colector para sanear de agua negras al Río Santuario y conducirlas a una nueva planta tratadora de aguas residuales.
Para David Melgoza Montañez el saneamiento de la cuenca del Río Duero no es una opción, sino una prioridad, de ahí que celebró el interés que mostrado el gobernador Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla al comprometer una inversión de 52.6 millones de pesos para siete obras de saneamiento, infraestructura hídrica y tratamiento de aguas residuales en los municipios de Cherán, Chilchota, Tangancícuaro Pajacuarán, Zamora, Ixtlán y Purépero.
