El Sistema Producto Fresa Nacional tiene nuevo Comité, donde quedó como presidente Juan Manuel Garibay Villalobos; representante no gubernamental, Jesús Méndez; representante gubernamental, Daniel Serrato Díaz; tesorero, Rubén Garibay; presidente de la comisión de vigilancia y prestadores de servicios, Miguel Machuca y secretario de la comisión de vigilancia, José Luis Sefoo.
Igualmente, como comisionado de industria y comercialización, Antonio Sámano; comisionado de organización y capacitación, José Luis Pimentel; comisionada de investigaciones y transferencia tecnológica, Martha Alicia Velázquez; comisionado de financiamientos y seguros, Samuel Aguilera y comisionado de sanidad e inocuidad alimentaria, Héctor Ramírez. Estos 5 últimos vocales.
Karime Pineda Sandoval, gerente del Sistema Producto fresa nacional, detalló que este comité nacional engloba los comités estatales de fresa de las entidades como Michoacán, México, Guanajuato y Baja California, «a diferencia de otros años, tenemos representantes de los sistemas productos estatales para fortalecer el nacional, con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida de los agricultores de dichos estados y estos puedan acceder a capacitaciones, asesorías técnicas, etc.».
Detalló que este comité se enfocará en 10 proyectos prioritarios, entre estos: tener una planta madre sana, es decir, una planta de fresa mexicana para evitar problemas de plagas, enfermedades y hongos importados.
Con lo anterior, puntualizó, además, disminuir costos de producción para evitar los impuestos que genera importar una planta; el saneamiento del Río Duero; el uso limitado de pesticidas y fertilizantes químicos, apostar a una agricultura orgánica; capacitación continua a productores, etc.
Mencionó que el comité se renueva cada 3 años. Anteriormente el presidente era José Sámano Zamora y el representante no gubernamental, el finado Octaviano Magaña Ortiz, «el perfil con el que deben contar los presidentes en turno deben ser agricultores de fresa con varios años de actividad, reconocido y tener una representatividad con los agricultores para que sepan las necesidades del sector primario».
El Comité del Sistema Producto fresa Nacional se rige de acuerdo con la ley de desarrollo rural, sus atribuciones principales son velar por los intereses de los productores pequeños, buscar soluciones al problema de plagas, hongos y enfermedades, el acercamiento a la proveeduría a bajo costo y garantizar asesoría técnica gratuita al productor.
Cabe señalar que en esta nueva mesa directiva hay desde productores, investigadores o especialistas en cada una de las comisiones, «buscamos el mejor perfil para dar resultados en beneficio de los más de 500 pequeños productores (de media a 5 hectáreas que integran este organismo)».
