Más de 25 intelectuales, desde investigadores, artistas plásticos, funcionarios públicos, custodios, talleristas, integrantes de asociaciones civiles, personas interesadas en el fenómeno carcelario e incluso que estuvieron privadas de su libertad y que ahora ya salieron, unen esfuerzos en aras de mejorar las condiciones del sistema penitenciario del país.
Esto a través del segundo Congreso de la Red de Estudios sobre Espacios Carcelarios «Ecos que perduran, estigmas, población penitenciaria y reinserción social», en su modalidad híbrida, que se inauguró hoy en el Colegio de Michoacán (Colmich) y se extenderá hasta el viernes 18 de noviembre, en un horario de 10 am a 6 pm; también los interesados pueden seguir la trasmisión, a través de Zoom en la página www.red.mx o siguiendo la trasmisión en la página del Facebook y de Youtube del Colmich.
Isabel Juárez Becerra, Investigadora de la Universidad de Guadalajara y fundadora de la red citada expresó, «todos concordamos que las prisiones son sistemas rebasados que tienen bastantes problemas, por lo que este congreso es un espacio de debate con un enfoque transdisciplinario para proponer posibles soluciones».
El Congreso contempla ponencias con temas como: estigmas sociales y representaciones sobre la prisión y la población penitenciaria; medidas alternativas a la prisión y estatus jurídicos social de la población penitenciaria.
Este jueves se presentan las ponencias: «actores del sistema carcelario; salud y derechos humanos de las personas privadas de la libertad y para el viernes 18: «perspectivas críticas de la reinserción social y la fuga para concluir con la plenaria.
El evento también contempla una exposición fotográfica «Nosotras las de la cárcel», a cargo de la fotógrafa Doménica de la Torre; exhibición de cortodocumentales; presentaciones de libros y eventos artísticos y culturales.
«Se trata de conjuntar esfuerzos con propuestas desde una visión creativa y sensible desde lo artístico con el dialogo académico y el activismo para conocer cómo ve cada actor el fenómeno carcelario», mencionó.
Participan investigadores provenientes de las Universidades Autónomas de Nayarit, Sinaloa, Baja California, Universidad de Buenos Aires y Universidad de Guadalajara, entre otras.
Finalmente indicó que entre los principales problemas que enfrenta el sistema penitenciario del país son el hacinamiento, la falta de acceso a la educación, condiciones deplorables de salubridad, denigración hacia los derechos humanos, «por ello es urgente dialogar sobre esas cuestiones en aras de proponer estrategias de solución».
