«La educación ambiental trasforma vidas. Al hacer conciencia de la problemática ambiental, es el primer paso para formar acciones que ayuden a contrarrestar el daño y plantear soluciones para un mejor futuro», señaló Lucila Villicaña Meza, Presidenta del consejo ciudadano de ecología, en el marco de la conmemoración del día mundial del medio ambiente
Detalló que desde 1972 la ONU declaró al 5 de junio día mundial del medio ambiente, este año va bajo el lema «Sin contaminación por plásticos», por lo que se invitó a estudiantes de conocido colegio de municipio en aras de concientizarlos sobre la importancia del reciclaje y la reforestación. Al cierre del evento conmemorativo realizaron una campaña de reforestación en el parque del DIF.
Agregó, «debemos concientizar a la humanidad acerca de los problemas ambientales. El objetivo de esta conmemoración es trasmitir la responsabilidad, el equilibrio y la armonía con nuestras acciones y conductas, que estén orientadas a respetar, proteger y cuidar el medio ambiente, con la finalidad de asegurar la conservación de nuestro planeta».
Indicó que el consejo ciudadano se ha preocupado por hacer sinergia con los municipios en aras de abatir las problemáticas ambientales que existen, entre ellas contaminación de mantos freáticos, incendios forestales intencionados, deforestación, por citar algunos.
Por su parte Mariela Cabrera Arias, regidora en Jacona, lamentó que la tala de árboles que aún prevalece origina falta de oxígeno, «al no tener aire limpio, por la falta de purificadores de aire (árboles), incrementan las enfermedades como dermatitis y conjuntivitis».
Asimismo, la tala inmoderada provoca altas temperaturas que generan deshidratación, cáncer de piel Además se disminuye la recarga de agua en los mantos acuíferos, «esto ocasiona un grave problema de salud pública, ya que el agua es vida. Aunado a que la contaminación de agua, provoca enfermedades gastrointestinales, insuficiencia renal».
Agregó que la contaminación atmosférica urbana provoca enfermedades respiratorias como la neumonía y el cáncer de pulmón, «de acuerdo a la OMS, se calcula que 1.3 millones de las personas a nivel mundial mueren en un año, a causa de la contaminación atmosférica urbana». Añadió que miles de personas en todo el mundo siguen sin tener acceso al agua y al saneamiento, por lo que son susceptibles a padecer enfermedades como diarrea y cólera.
Trinidad Macías, regidora de turismo, expresó, «no podemos implementar una actividad turística, sino está de por medio la naturaleza. Por ello debemos cuidarla, protegerla y preservarla».
Rocío Ochoa Tolento, regidora de protección animal y medio ambiente, indicó, «necesitamos crear conciencia, que las personas se den cuenta del terrible daño, que nuestras acciones le causan a la naturaleza, ya sea mediante la deforestación, la tala indiscriminada de árboles, la contaminación de ríos y lagos y la emisión de gases de efecto invernadero».
