Los incendios forestales provocados por el cambio de uso de suelo y de manera intencional están generando cerros pelones y, por tanto, ante la falta de pinos u otros árboles, la recarga de los mantos freáticos cada vez es menor, todo ello ocasiona que los niveles de agua vayan a la baja y con ello se agudice la sequía en la zona.
Igualmente, aunado a la falta de conciencia humana que agudiza la contaminación en los afluentes, siendo estos son los principales problemas ambientales que aquejan a esta región, señaló Haydee Alfaro Sánchez, directora municipal de ecología y protección animal.
En la continuación de los eventos con motivo del día mundial del medio ambiente, reiteró que buscan incidir en concientizar a la población sobre el cuidado del medio ambiente y generar propuestas encaminadas a abatir las diversas problemáticas que deterioran la ecología, “entre todos podremos lograr el cambio, necesitamos el apoyo de la sociedad para lograr grandes proyectos ambientales».
Consideró que otros de los problemas ambientales que enfrenta Zamora y la región son: “falta de infraestructura verde, indiferencia para separar la basura, poca calidad del aire ante el exceso de vehículos en la ciudad; así como por la quema de maleza, llantas, sillones, etc.; así como el uso indiscriminado de agroquímicos».
«Juntos podemos concientizar, crear programas e ideas para poder atacar estas problemáticas medio ambientales que tenemos en nuestra ciudad. Por tanto, se convoca al público en general, estudiantes, empresarios, funcionarios públicos, a encaminar esfuerzos para cuidar nuestro entorno», finalizó.
