Debido a la tardanza de las lluvias, se retrasó el desarrollo del cultivo de maíz de temporal. Ante ello, el gobierno estatal preocupado por que los maíces no están en su tamaño normal de crecimiento, se dio a la tarea de apoyar a los productores de este grano que tienen sus siembras retrasadas con micorrizas (protectoras contra depredadores y patógenos de las plantas) que son totalmente gratuitas y que se pueden solicitar en la Secretaria de Agricultura, delegación Zamora.
Las micorrizas son hongos y bacterias cuya función es crear una simbiosis que genera más volumen y crecimiento a la raíz para que estos maíces produzcan algo, si no es grano para cosecha, por lo menos forraje para el ganado, señalo Miguel Machuca Gallegos, técnico de Agrosano en Zamora.
Para Zamora, el gobierno estatal destino 200 micorrizas para el mismo número de hectáreas. De las cuales, ya fueron repartidas alrededor de 140 que se aplicaron en hectáreas de temporal de ejidos ubicados en la parte alta, entre ellos: Atacheo, Tierras Blancas, La Sauceda, Ojo de Agua, entre otros, «con las micorrizas los cultivos aprovecharán la humedad que está un poco más abajo de la superficie del suelo para alcanzar un poco más de rendimiento».
Reveló que aún quedan 60 micorrizas disponibles, los productores interesados, sobre todo, los ecuareros (pequeños productores) que tienen este tipo de problema deben acudir a la SADER, delegación Zamora, ubicada en Alfredo B Bonfil 115 altos en un horario de 9 am a 2 pm o comunicarse al 351 111 0919. Deben constatar que su siembra de maíz este poco desarrollada con evidencias fotográficas y presentar copia del INE.
Finalmente detalló que los maíces que se retrasaron por falta de lluvias y que no se tuvo la oportunidad de regar, tienen aproximadamente en promedio un metro o menos de altura, siendo que a estas alturas ya deberían de estar floreando, es decir, tener por lo menos 1.80 metros de altura.
