Ante la ola de violencia actual, el Obispo de Zamora, Javier Navarro Rodríguez, dijo que es primordial poner en el centro de todos los valores la vida humana, desde el vientre materno hasta su muerte natural, «los que dicen que cero impunidad contra quien priva de la vida aun ser humano se muestran complacientes a la hora de legislar como ya lo hizo la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN) al descriminalizar el aborto en el país ¿quienes son ellos para convertirse en árbitros de quien debe morir?”.
Agregó, «la vida humana comienza desde el vientre materno y por tanto debe respetarse, no concibo esa incoherencia de la misma legislación que por un lado dice: cero impunidad y por otro lado se muestre complaciente y diga no pasa nada, no hay ninguna sanción. Como iglesia no defendemos la penalización del aborto, sino la promoción de la vida».
Añadió , «la promoción de la paz comienza desde el respeto y sensibilidad hacia la naturaleza, los animales y más aun al ser humano. Es superior la naturaleza del ser humano porque los seres vivos somos los únicos en los que está plantado la imagen y semejanza de Dios, en el sentido de que está dotado de inteligencia y voluntad, a diferencia de los pájaros o los árboles».
Mencionó que en los 16 años de vivir en Zamora, últimamente la violencia ganó terreno, va de mal en peor, por lo de se requiere fortalecer los valores y la cultura de la paz, «tanto la iglesia y los diversos sectores tenemos mucho que hacer en ese sentido, desde programas preventivos y el fortalecimiento de la fe, etc.».
