Derivado de un acuerdo del consejo general el Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE), se determinó que las credenciales de elector que tienen vencimiento en este año 2023, puedan ser utilizadas como medio de identificación y válidas para votar el 2 de junio del 2024.
Esto debido al gran número de ciudadanos que aún no han renovado su credencial de elector que fueron tramitadas en 2013.
Así lo informó Hugo Orozco Martínez, vocal del registro federal de electores en la junta distrital ejecutiva 05 del INE Zamora, recordó que las credenciales de elector tienen una vigencia de 10 años, por lo que las que fueron tramitadas en 2013 pierden vigencia el 31 de diciembre del 2023, esto quiere decir que para el 1 de enero del 2024 estas no serían válidas cono identificación y tampoco podrían servir para las votaciones del próximo año, pero gracias a dicho acuerdo, estas seguirán vigentes.
Detalló que a nivel nacional se estima que son más de 3 millones de ciudadanos que no han actualizado su credencial INE tramitada en 2013. Y a nivel distrito, son 17 mil ciudadanos que un no la actualizan de los municipios de: Churintzio, Ecuandureo, Tanhuato, Yurécuaro, Ixtlán, Numarán, Zinaparo, Tlazazalca, Purépero, Penjamillo, Zamora y La Piedad.
«Ante tantos ciudadanos que aún faltan por actualizar la mica sería complicado que acudieran a los módulos a realizar su canje, en tal virtud se amplía dicha posibilidad y podrán votar con ella en la elección que viene. Con esta determinación la intención es maximizar los derechos, en este caso el derecho a la identidad y el derecho a votar. Esto sin duda, incentivará el voto. La intención es que no sea un pretexto que la gente que no actualizo su credencial tengan coartado su derecho para votar».
Finalmente dijo que las credenciales que fueron tramitadas en 2013, al día siguiente de la elección es decir el 3 de junio del 2024, ya no serán vigentes, «por lo que sólo se amplió su vigencia exclusivamente para que puedan ejercer su derecho al voto».
