-La mayor causa de gente en rehabilitación es producto de accidentados en motocicleta

Arrancó de manera oficial la 15a colecta y campaña anual del Centro de Rehabilitación Integral (CRI) Promotón, que encabeza la asociación civil Forjadores de Esperanza del Valle de Zamora, cuyos integrantes revelaron que en esta ocasión la meta para este año será recaudar 1 millón 650 mil pesos para destinarlos a la operación del centro y de esa manera beneficiar a pacientes que acuden de 31 municipios a la redonda.
El presidente de Forjadores de Esperanza, Juan Carlos Velázquez Hernández, indicó que en 5 años que tiene en operación el CRI han proporcionado más de 6 mil consultas médicas y aproximadamente 15 mil terapias, “lamentablemente la mayoría de la gente que atendemos son producto de accidentes en motocicleta, otros por percances en el hogar o por cuestiones congénitas”.
Dijo que tienen un registro de 2 mil solicitudes elaboradas, pero actualmente un mil 250 pacientes están activos en proceso de rehabilitación y en estos últimos cinco años han dado de alta a 350 personas, 80 por ciento de ellos continúan bajo supervisión.
En este sentido dijo que las necesidades que enfrenta la institución son múltiples, ya que el gasto corriente anual supera los 2 millones de pesos, para poder operar las diversas áreas con que cuenta como son: electroterapia, mecanoterapia, fortalecimiento muscular, hidroterapia, intervención temprana, terapia ocupacional, psicología, medicina especializada, terapia del lenguaje y el cuarto de estimulación multinsensorial.
Indicó que a lo largo de los cinco años del CRI Promotón y 15 de la Colecta, el balance es positivo, dado que han obtenido cosas muy valiosas pues además de lograr una rehabilitación física en los pacientes, también recomponen a las familias vía atención psicológica y humanitaria que coadyuva a generar en los pacientes y en sus familiares una mejor calidad de vida.
Mencionó que afortunadamente la sociedad ya tiene una consciencia más sólida sobre la cultura de la discapacidad, pero admitió que aún falta mucho por hacer en ese sentido, como en la cultura de la prevención, dada la gran cantidad de pacientes accidentados.
Finalmente invitó a funcionarios, servidores públicos y a la población en general a realizar su aportación en los 750 botes que estarán distribuidos en diversos puntos para que este próximo 30 de abril se pueda lograr la meta establecida, de igual manera hizo un llamado a los presidentes municipales a sensibilizarse y apoyar de manera generosa, «necesitamos que se desarrolle una comunidad con espíritu de labor social».
