México y EU iniciaron estricto protocolo de seguridad para retomar exportaciones de aguacate. Personal norteamericano comenzó el pasado sábado y domingo con la supervisión de las 20 empacadoras en Uruapan, Ziracuaretiro y San Juan Nuevo
Dicho protocolo de seguridad será oficializado este lunes 24 de junio por el embajador de Estados Unidos en México, Ken Salazar, en un encuentro que sostendrá con el mandatario de Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.
Con base a la Asociación de Productores y Empacadores Exportadores de Aguacate de México (APEAM), los inspectores del Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (USDA, por sus siglas en inglés) deben estar acompañados, de forma permanente, por agentes de seguridad -escoltas-, que son proporcionados por los gobiernos federal y estatal.
Por su parte, el personal norteamericano comenzó el pasado sábado y domingo con la supervisión de las 20 empacadoras en Uruapan, Ziracuaretiro y San Juan Nuevo, en los que deben laborar menos de nueve horas diarias y como máximo seis días por semana.
Dichas empacadoras seleccionadas por Estados Unidos ya pueden realizar sus actividades de recepción de aguacate, lavado, proceso, almacenamiento y embarque a tierras estadounidenses.
De acuerdo con el USDA, el regreso de las inspecciones al resto de los municipios productores de aguacate dependerá de los avances que se presenten en materia de seguridad en cada región michoacana.
