-CIJ observa incremento de uso en adolescentes; salud puede verse afectada

“Los vapeadores de humo sí afectan la salud de las personas; no es un sustituto del tabaco como la gente tiene la creencia errónea. Lo más preocupante es el incremento del aparato entre adolescentes, lo cual pone en severo riesgo su salud, debido a que pueden desarrollar cáncer o enfisema pulmonar”, puntualizó José Francisco Gil Cerda, director del Centro de Integración Juvenil (CIJ).
Comentó que la misma COFEPRIS y la Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) han declarado que son aparatos totalmente ilegales, pero el problema es que son de fácil acceso para los jóvenes, principalmente para quienes estudian en el nivel medio superior que es donde se observa esta tendencia, pero lo más lamentable es que hay adolescentes que a los 12 años comienzan a tener contacto con esta droga.
“Al igual que el tabaco tiene sustancias químicas que son iguales o más perjudiciales para las personas y es allí donde se debe prestar atención. Los padres de familia tienen un papel importante en este tema porque si no brindan el acompañamiento debido y están al pendiente de la toma de decisiones de sus hijos, están más propensos a caer en una adicción que puede perjudicar sus vidas de manera importante”, dijo.
Concluyó al decir que, además, los riesgos de los concentradores de nicotina son que al contener más sustancia que un tabaco pueden llegar a intoxicar con mayor facilidad a una persona en su aparato respiratoria y las consecuencias son de consideración por no tener los cuidados pertinentes, de manera que pueden llegar incluso hasta la mortandad.
