Productores agrícolas acordaron apostar por la hidroponía (invernadero) para fortalecer el volumen de la producción de fresa que se genera en el municipio, ya que de esa manera se garantizará que haya producto durante todo el año y que no se genere únicamente durante el temporal que dura de noviembre a mayo.
“Es difícil cuantificar cuánta fresa se genera en las más de 3 mil hectáreas que se cultivan actualmente en el municipio de Zamora, porque depende de cómo se presenten las condiciones climatológicas, lo que es un hecho es que los productores apostarán a las nuevas exigencias de la demanda en el mercado de la exportación y ello nos posiciona en el ámbito de la comercialización”, puntualizó Ramón Segura Maldonado, director de desarrollo rural, tras la reunión que sostuvieron productores para la extensión e innovación territorial en la quinta municipal.
Comentó que es una de las innovaciones principales además de procurar mantener la inocuidad de las hectáreas que se cosechan actualmente para la exportación, ya que de esa manera se responde a los requerimientos fitosanitarios solicitados en Estados Unidos y además se compromete a los productores a tener que renovar sus certificaciones.
“Si bien somos la zona con mayor productividad de fresa en el Estado y una de las más importantes en el país, tenemos el compromiso de mantener esa exigencia para que no dejen de fluir recursos para la economía local y que se traducen en la producción de la frutilla y su procesamiento en las congeladoras locales”, consideró.
Mencionó que otro de los objetivos de comenzar a apostar por la hidroponía es responder a la demanda del mercado de los Estados Unidos durante todo el año porque desde el invernadero se pueden controlar las condiciones de clima y elementos que requiere el cultivo para que el rendimiento sea importante.
“Además existe la garantía de que la producción sea hasta 2 o 3 veces más que lo generado en tierras de cultivo que solo cuentan con un invernadero. Lo importante es que el productor se decida porque solo un mínimo porcentaje ha decidido hacer la inversión, superior al millón de pesos por hectárea, para llevar a cabo ese tipo de procesos”, explicó.
Concluyó que en los próximos 5 años se comenzarán a ver los resultados de la apuesta por la hidroponía, ya que la globalización del mercado obligará a los productores a tener que invertir en ese apartado y no solo dependerán de lo que se produzca en el temporal actual.
