Son 38 publicaciones anuales las que produce el Colegio de Michoacán (Colmich), esto gracias al talento de la pluma y la investigación de los académicos que integran el cuerpo docente de esta institución, señaló Patricia Delgado González, jefa del departamento de publicaciones del Colmich, colegio dedicado a la investigación de las ciencias sociales y humanidades.
Algunos de estos libros se realizaron en colaboración con investigadores de otras instituciones del país o incluso del extranjero. Abarcan diversos temas: historia, geografía, arqueología y ciencias sociales, entre otros. Actualmente tienen un 20 por ciento de descuento en todos los libros que editan, a excepción de las novedades.
«Las ventas son decorosas, toda vez que es para un público especializado, ya que más del 80 por ciento de nuestro mercado es académico, aunque también algunas lecturas para el público en general. El tiraje de cada uno de los títulos, usualmente es de 300 ejemplares. Los libros de mayor demanda son de historia y de antropología».
