– Redujeron hasta 300 hectáreas tierra cultivable; se perdieron jornales de trabajadores

Las condiciones climatológicas actuales han complicado la producción de papa en la zona de la Meseta Purépecha, derivado de que, al no haber una estabilidad en lluvias, principalmente, se genera un crecimiento irregular y manchas en el tubérculo que es uno de los productos más demandados por personas de la región.
Así lo dio a conocer, Jorge Hernández Alvarez, coordinador de la asociación de pequeños productores de Huarachanillo, comentó que, de mil 500 hectáreas que se sembraron en el ciclo 2022, en 2023 solo lograron trabajar en mil 200, que significan 300 menos y disminución de ganancias para los 800 productores de la región que están asentados en esa zona.
Comentó que la reducción también trae como consecuencia la pérdida de jornales de trabajo y ello impacta directamente en las familias que se encuentran asentadas en la zona que dependen de la actividad agrícola para sostener sus hogares y de allí la importancia de que no deje de haber apoyos para el campo en la actualidad.
Concluyó al decir que por el momento se mantiene la papa, el aguacate y maíz, como uno de los principales productos que se generan en la meseta purépecha, sin embargo, resaltó que de no atenderse las necesidades de los productores agrícolas, se puede perder la actividad en esta zona rica en agricultura en esta parte de Michoacán.
