Cumplió 10 años el cierre del albergue de Mamá Rosa
– Inmueble sigue en litigio ante la Fiscalía General de la República; aún divide opinión entre los zamoranos, unos por el cobijo que daba a infantes y otros porque los resguardaba con maltratos

El pasado 15 de julio se cumplieron 10 años del cierre del albergue de La Gran Familia en esta ciudad, que era dirigido por Rosa del Carmen Verduzco mejor conocida como “Mamá Rosa”. En esa fecha, pero de 2014, autoridades federales y estatales irrumpieron en el inmueble para sacar a 168 niños del espacio, aunque se decía que eran sobre 500, del lugar en donde vivían en condiciones de hacinamiento.
Una vez que se dio la salida del inmueble, los infantes fueron trasladados hasta albergues ubicados en la ciudad de Morelia, Michoacán, que estaban bajo resguardo de la administración en turno del DIF Estatal, aunque también hubo casos que llegaron a otros estados. Tras una década de las acciones se conoce que el albergue quedó bajo resguardo de la autoridad judicial y está completamente abandonado, solamente cuidado por dos guardias de seguridad privada.
En tanto, la situación jurídica del espacio se encuentra actualmente todavía bajo litigio y resguardo de la Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) que ha colocado un aviso en la reja principal de las instalaciones, en donde hace la advertencia de que bajo ninguna circunstancia alguna persona puede pasar adentro del inmueble o dañar la propiedad.
La figura de Mamá Rosa todavía es motivo de controversia entre los zamoranos, porque hay quienes consideran que su labor fue justa para dar cobijo a infantes que quedaban prácticamente a la deriva al no tener padres responsables, pero otros señalan que fue un “demonio” al tenerlos resguardados entre maltratos, alimentos echados a perder y aparentes “vejaciones” que sufrieron los menores de edad durante su estancia.
