– Preocupa al Centro de Integración Juvenil este problema de salud

«Cada vez es más notorio en Michoacán el comienzo en el consumo del tabaco a edades tempranas, hay indicios que es desde los 10 años de edad, que luego les da entrada a otras sustancias y es precisamente el cigarro el inicio», señaló Francisco Gil Cerda, director del Centro de Integración Juvenil (CIJ), esto en el marco del día mundial sin tabaco.
Añadió que son cientos de miles las personas en México que pueden llegar a morir anualmente, por enfermedades relacionadas al consumo del tabaco, «es la primera causa de muerte que se tiene dentro del consumo de sustancias adictivas, no únicamente en México, sino a nivel mundial».
«En nuestras comunidades, donde hay un alto índice de problemas de adiciones, se inicia con el cigarrillo y de ahí siguen con el consumo de otras sustancias adictivas. Es la primera droga de iniciación que tienen nuestros niños y jóvenes».
Para conmemorar este día, en el CIJ se realizó un foro denominado «Qué onda con el vapeo, riesgos de consumo», dirigido a jóvenes de secundaria, en donde se dio a conocer los daños, consecuencias y mitos que se tienen en torno al consumo de este cigarrillo electrónico.
En este foro se derribaron los mitos de que el vapeo tiene menos efectos dañinos en el organismo, «ya que este lamentablemente afecta el sistema respiratorio, nervioso, circulatorio, digestivo y reproductor y por si fuera poco, ocasiona cáncer de pulmón».
Añadió que el vapeo es altamente tóxico y además genera adicción, “causa dermatitis, quemaduras y lesiones en boca, nariz y garganta. Todo cigarrillo electrónico está incumpliendo norma de salud y reglamentación interna dentro de nuestro país y, por lo tanto, es un instrumento que está en contra de todo lo que el CIJ busca, una salud integral para nuestros niños, jóvenes y adolescentes».
«Por tanto, en esta charla incentivamos los riesgos y daños del consumo del tabaco y el cigarro electrónico. Asimismo, hicimos hincapié sobre las clínicas para dejar de fumar con las que cuenta el CIJ, a las cuales pueden acudir todas las personas interesadas en dejar este hábito que les puede ocasionar consecuencias muy desgarradoras o peor aún la muerte», concluyó.
