-Cerca de los basureros municipales predominan los roedores
-Campaña relacionada con el manejo fitosanitario de maíz y trigo

Con el fin de abatir las ratas en esta región, destinaran 250 mil pesos a través la campaña del manejo fitosanitario del maíz y trigo, la cual arrancó a mediados de febrero y se extenderá a lo largo de tres meses, informó Javier Vega Valdez, responsable fitosanitario de la junta local de unidad vegetal Bajío-Ciénega de Michoacán de la región Zamora.
Reveló que esta campaña abarcará los municipios de Ecuandureo, Ixtlán, Zamora, Jacona y Chavinda, “el manejo fitosanitario del maíz y trigo llevan un control de roedores que se hace cada año, toda vez que es una plaga recurrente, que no se elimina por completo. Por tanto con el 5 o 10 por ciento que queda, durante un año ya tenemos otra vez poblaciones grandes por lo que iniciamos con trampeos para precisar las cantidades; estos nos van a indicar si es factible o no tirar el cebo envenenado”.
Añadió “los 250 mil pesos destinados para esta campaña regional lo aportan los productores, quienes cooperan con 15 pesos por hectárea a la hora de inscribirse a PROCAMPO, aunado a la aportación estatal y federal por parte de la SAGARPA; así como de los gobiernos municipales. Para esta campaña logramos cubrir alrededor de 34 mil hectáreas de los cultivos en los 5 municipios de esta región. Cómo junta local en total invertimos más de 800 mil pesos para cubrir más de 90 mil hectáreas, porque se incluyen también la región de Sahuayo, La Piedad, Numerán y Yurécuaro”.
Señaló que las acciones de esta campaña comprenden desde trampeos para ver niveles de infestación, es decir, se colocan trampas de madera; asimismo se hace control químico (tirar el cebo envenenado) y posteriormente otro trampeo para ver la efectividad.
Detalló: “una brigada inicia desde el rincón grande de Ecuandureo, entrando a Zamora y saliendo hacia Jacona. La otra brigada viene desde San Cristóbal en Ixtlán, vienen caminando bordo por bordo, parcela por parcela y al llegar a Zamora salen para Chavinda. Normalmente en cada una de estas 2 brigadas trabajan 7 personas y dos ingenieros. Además nos hacemos acompañar de las autoridades ejidales o el encargado del orden para que nos indiquen hasta dónde llegan sus predios”.
Añadió “de los 250 mil pesos que se gastan en esta región, fácilmente estamos ayudando a que no se perjudiquen o evitamos que dejen de ingresar alrededor de unos 5 millones de pesos en la venta de trigo y maíz”.
Indicó que los focos rojos donde se concentran más roedores son cerca de los basureros municipales y de las poblaciones “ahí las ratas ya probaron algo de comida y entonces al grano o cebo envenenado de nosotros no le entran. Ahí les recomendamos a los productores poner trampas, aunque en esas zonas la afectación es menor en los cultivos, porque los roedores se van a las casas a comer de lo que hay, donde ya corresponde a la jurisdicción sanitaria”, finalizó.
