«Las berries (fresa, frambuesa, zarzamora, arándano) son el segundo producto nacional que en los años 2022 y 2023 han ingresado más divisas a México,
solamente por debajo de la cerveza. Además, la producción de estas frutillas genera más de 500 mil empleos a nivel nacional que cada día avanzan en su formalización, con prestaciones de normas sociales mexicanas y apegadas a la ley federal del trabajo».
Señaló Juan José Flores García, director general de Aneberries, consideró que cada vez los productores michoacanos son más conscientes de seguir cuidando el tema de inocuidad, responsabilidad ambiental y laboral, la comercialización, la inocuidad y el perfil orgánico de los productos para evitar daños al consumidor y por supuesto ser más empáticos en el manejo de los problemas fitosanitarios del campo, especialmente plagas y enfermedades, a través de un manejo integrado.
Dijo que esta zona de Michoacán, con Zamora al centro, es potencialmente exportadora de berries, por lo que el campo y la agroindustria de esta región tienen un papel fundamental en el desarrollo económico. Por lo que estas en sus aras de inocuidad concientiza a los productores de la zona para que lleven esa fruta a los consumidores sin ningún riesgo sanitario.
Resaltó que el impacto social y económico de las berries es muy positivo, “el principal destino de exportación es hacia los Estados Unidos, por lo que es importante estar al día con las reglamentaciones que establece la agencia de los alimentos de ese país, pensar en inocuidad no sólo debe ser para el mercado de exportación, sino también la responsabilidad debe ser para el mercado nacional».
