– Impacta en la salud de la mascota y controla la sobrepoblación

El próximo 8 de julio de 9 am a 5 pm se realizará en la quinta municipal una campaña de esterilización canina y felina a bajo costo, 450 pesos, mientras que en veterinarias particulares este servicio en animales pequeños llega a costar de mil a mil 500 pesos y en animales grandes de 3 a 4 mil pesos.
La meta es esterilizar 150 animales, informó Haydee Alfaro, directora municipal de protección animal y ecología.
Los interesados en esterilizar a sus mascotas deben agendar su cita al 351 913 3937. La mascota deberá presentarse en ayuno de 8 horas, con una cobija, deben ser animales sanos, la edad mínima es de 4 meses y no pasar de los 7 años de edad, no hembras lactantes, si se pueden esterilizar hembras en celo. Esta campaña la organiza la Asociación Animal Héroes, en conjunto con el ayuntamiento.
Destacó los beneficios de la esterilización: previene enfermedades venéreas en perros, como lo es el tumor venéreo trasmisible, un tipo de cáncer que se contagia vía sexual; previenen tumores en las hembras: en mamas y útero y en los machos tumores en testículos y genitales. Además de impactar positivamente en la salud, con la esterilización se controla la sobrepoblación de animales.
Finalmente informó que, desde el inicio de esta administración municipal, ya llevan alrededor de mil 300 animales esterilizados gratuitamente, pero en conjunto con la asociación Animal Héroes suman más de 2 mil, “también en este momento hay una campaña municipal de esterilización permanente a 250 pesos, «estamos llegando a todos los sectores a los que pueden pagar, a los que pueden pagar poco y a los que no tienen recursos».
