Los prestadores de servicios turísticos alistan sus instalaciones y personal para recibir a los visitantes en el periodo vacacional de verano comprendido del 10 de julio al 25 de agosto; varios hoteles y restaurantes ofrecerán atractivos descuentos y paquetes promocionales para los visitantes.
Cabe mencionar que se cuenta con una capacidad amplia de hospedaje, ya que se tienen 1 mil 200 habitaciones disponibles en los 250 hoteles, moteles y hostales existentes. Prevén una ocupación hotelera del 70 por ciento.
Así lo informó Cuauhtémoc Ventura Orozco, director municipal de turismo, admitió que para ese periodo no se tienen muchos eventos programados como lo son Semana Santa y Noche de Muertos. No obstante, agregó, Zamora no deja ser atractiva pues cada vez se tiene más visitantes, tanto de Nuevo León, Chihuahua, así como de la Ciudad México, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes y Jalisco, entre otros.
Dijo que el 90 por ciento del turismo que visita Zamora en este periodo próximo es de carácter religioso, ante el enorme potencial que tiene en ese rubro, ya que es de las ciudades con mayor número de templos (42), los que más atraen a los turistas por su estilo ecléctico y gótico son el Sagrado Corazón, San Diego, San Francisco, Catedral, La Purísima y por supuesto el Santuario Guadalupano.
Finalmente, resaltó que Zamora tiene de las mejores gastronomías en el estado, tanto formal como informal, desde garnachas, hasta platillos para los paladares más exigentes, en cada esquina hay hamburguesas, tacos, enchiladas, pozole, tostadas, cortes de carne, pastas, mariscos, una amplia gama, “por otra parte, hay una buena coordinación con los municipios cercamos, que también ofrecen mucho”.
