El Ayuntamiento local ayudó con 13 millones de pesos que hicieron posible la terminación del campus de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) ubicado en La Rinconada. Los recursos fueron destinados para infraestructura, el acceso al espacio, así como a servicios de drenaje y agua potable del lugar.
Carlos Soto Delgado, presidente municipal, informó que además de lo anterior se debe tomar en consideración la gestión constante que se hizo en esta administración municipal ante diferentes instancias federales, estatales y de la propia casa de estudios para que fuera posible aterrizar este proyecto a 14 años de no haberse concluido los trabajos.
“Hoy finalmente podemos decir que se hace un antes y un después de este proyecto porque los estudiantes tendrán una opción más para hacer su formación universitaria, pero además habrá cabida para quienes viven en los municipios de la región porque la intención es que este espacio pueda crecer en los próximos años”, dijo.
Finalmente, agregó que el campus de la UMSNH vendrá a generar un desarrollo importante en la zona norponiente del municipio, porque además de tener la movilidad de estudiantes seguramente también habrá mayor circulación de recursos por la prestación de servicios y una gestión que buscará realizar en lo sucesivo es que se consolide, en buenas condiciones, el tramo carretero que va de La Rinconada hasta la conexión con la autopista que va de Zamora a Ecuandureo, así como la consolidación de un corredor industrial.
