A fin de evitar inundaciones en las colonias ubicadas en las partes más bajas de la cabecera municipal durante el presente temporal de lluvias, el gobierno local que preside el Prof. Nicolás Cibrián González, desarrolla actualmente trabajos preventivos en puntos considerados como de conflicto, acción con la que se verá beneficiado un amplio sector de la población.
Esto ante las abundantes precipitaciones pluviales que se han dejado sentir durante las últimas semanas en esta parte de la región de la Ciénega de Chapala lo que ha despertado la inquietud en vecinos de la población al recordar los problemas sufridos en años pasados por inundaciones que derivaron en pérdidas materiales de infraestructura en las viviendas más vulnerables afectando así a cientos de familias de escasos recursos.
Sensible a esta situación el Prof. Cibrián González giró las instrucciones necesarias al departamento de Obras Públicas para que se evaluaran las zonas de riesgo y de manera inmediata fuera puesto en marcha el programa de acciones preventivas, el cual cabe mencionar es subsidiado en su totalidad con fondos del municipio.
En esta dinámica ya se trabaja en las labores de limpieza en el canal El Monte, infraestructura hidráulica en la que se realizará una inversión total de aproximadamente setenta mil pesos, monto con el que se proyecta cubrir la meta de limpieza de aproximadamente 2.5 kilómetros lineales, retirando tapones de basura y azolve que puedan obstaculizar el paso del agua y provocar una contingencia de proporciones mayores.
Así mismo se dio continuidad a la obra del colector pluvial ubicado en la calle Nacional en la salida a la comunidad de La Sabila, punto en el que se capta gran parte de los escurrimientos del centro de la ciudad, espacio en el que actualmente se lleva a cabo el entubamiento de 354 metros lineales de canal a fin de desalojar de una manera más efectiva el agua.(s)
