Dado las similitudes en materia de producción agropecuaria entre Michoacán y los Países Bajos, hay interés del gobierno de aquella región europea por colaborar y compartir conocimientos con las autoridades, academia y productores de nuestra entidad, para establecer alianzas comerciales que beneficien a ambas partes; así lo aseguró Jaap Veerman, ministro consejero encargado de Negocios de los Países Bajos.
Durante la reunión de trabajo presidida por el secretario de Desarrollo Económico de la entidad, Jaime Rodríguez López, en representación del gobernador Salvador Jara Guerrero, y en la que participaron funcionarios federales, estatales, productores, así como empresarios michoacanos, se expuso a la representación de los Países Bajos, las ventajas que hacen de Michoacán un destino propicio para las inversiones.
En este marco, se destacó que el sector agropecuario es estratégico y prioritario para el desarrollo de Michoacán, porque además de ofrecer los alimentos que consume la población, provee de materias primas a la industria de transformación.
El presidente de los Sistemas Producto del estado, Xavier Chávez Contreras, destacó que el mosaico agroclimático de la entidad, la hace ideal para cultivar una gran variedad de productos, lo que le ha valido a Michoacán el primer lugar nacional en valor de producción. Cuenta con más de 29 productos hortofrutícolas, acuícolas y ganaderos, e inclusive es primer exportador en aguacate, zarzamora, mango, fresa y coco.
Chávez Contreras explicó las acciones que con el respaldo de los gobiernos federal y estatal realizan para garantizar la calidad e inocuidad de sus productos, de tal manera que puedan distribuirse por toda Europa, por lo que solicitó el apoyo del ministro de Países Bajos para promocionar lo que se produce en tierras purépechas.
Por su parte, Hugo Javier Chagoyán Pérez, director de Promoción de la Secretaría de Desarrollo Económico estatal, mencionó todas las ventajas competitivas, geográficas, logísticas y de comunicación que caracterizan a Michoacán.
