– Instituciones unen esfuerzos para sensibilizar sobre derechos de las personas con discapacidad

De acuerdo al Centro de Rehabilitación Integral (CRI) Promotón, institución dedicada a garantizar terapias integrales a las personas con alguna discapacidad, se sabe que las principales causas de discapacidad en la población de Zamora y la región son las siguientes:
En el caso de los niños recién nacidos son la parálisis cerebral, el síndrome de down y el retraso psicomotor; en el caso de los jóvenes: los accidentes automovilísticos, en motocicleta o bicicleta y en el caso de los adultos mayores los eventos vasculares cerebrales, así lo informó Marisela de Jesús Oseguera Guzmán, directora del CRI Promotón.
Mencionó que este próximo 3 de diciembre en conmemoración al día internacional de las personas con discapacidad, diversas instituciones, en conjunto con el ayuntamiento municipal, unirán esfuerzos para sensibilizar y concientizar a la población sobre los derechos de este sector, en aras de fortalecer la cultura de la inclusión.
Es por ello que se llevará a cabo una feria informativa en la plaza principal, en un horario de 10 am a 1 pm, en la cual habrá módulos informativos de diversas instituciones que trabajan con estos sectores, entre ellas: la agrupación de personas con discapacidad motriz, el Instituto Unidos (que atiende a personas con discapacidad intelectual), Espiral de Sueños y el Centro de Atención Múltiple (CAM), entre otras.
En el caso del CRI, atiende en promedio a alrededor de 1 mil 200 personas, desde bebé recién nacidos hasta adultos mayores con alguna discapacidad. Cuentan con las siguientes áreas: mecanoterapia, electroterapia, hidroterapia, cuarto sensorial, lenguaje, estimulación temprana, ocupacional, psicología, área de trabajo social y especialidades médicas en rehabilitación física y traumatología.
A lo largo de 15 años de labores, esta institución representa una esperanza para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas con alguna discapacidad, sobre todo de escasos recursos, ya que las cuotas de las terapias son muy accesibles, «en estos 15 años hemos beneficiado a alrededor de 9 mil personas con estos servicios, lo que ha permitido que muchos de ellos se puedan integrar a su vida social, laboral o escolar. Y lo que se busca es que ellos estén mejor física y emocionalmente para que puedan hacer frente a su vida diaria».
