Urge fortalecer la cultura de la educación ambiental

«En 15 años, del 2008 a la fecha, fueron plantados 5 mil árboles en el parque lineal «Vía Verde», sin embargo, sólo han sobrevivido mil 200, los que no fueron quemados a propósito, otros se los robaron, otros pisoteados, cortados con machetes, descortezados o deteriorados o bien no se les garantizo el mantenimiento apropiado.
Por lo que urge fortalecer la cultura de la educación ambiental», expresó Patricia Heyer de Ledezma, miembro activo del grupo ecologista Tierra Viva.
Mencionó que en esta «Vía Verde» que barca 30 metros de ancho y 2 kilómetros y medio de largo se han plantado desde fresnos, tepehuajes, jacarandas, entre otros. Este año optaron por plantar solamente 300 árboles endémicos, «fueron muy pocos, porque no se trata de plantar por plantar y darles la bendición a ver si sobreviven».
«Somos de la idea de que si vamos a plantar uno es porque lo vamos a cuidar, estar al pendiente de regarlo cada semana, cuando no llueva, dar el mantenimiento que requiere para su buen desarrollo. A estas acciones de reforestación se han sumado empresas, familias e instituciones educativas”.
Consideró que todos debemos contribuir a conservar este parque lineal, “en este momento se han conservado los árboles que están, sobre todo, desde el Dren General del Valle hasta el libramiento, paralela a la avenida Madero Norte. Desde finales del 2007 se hizo el decreto que sería un parque lineal “Vía Verde” para una vialidad no motorizada y para usarlo en actividades recreativas, educativas, familiares, deportivas y culturales. Por lo que se requiere que la gente tome consciencia de la importancia de este espacio como un pulmon natural y lo cuide».
