Michoacán está por debajo de la media nacional en cuanto a muerte materna se refiere, sin embargo, el compromiso del sector salud es abatir esta situación ante un problema que tiene por principales causas de fallecimiento la hemorragia, el COVID y la hipertensión durante el embarazo, indicó Elías Ibarra Torres, titular de la secretaría de salud de Michoacán (SSM).
Abundó en decir que antes, por año, se llegaban a registrar 50 casos de muerte materna en la entidad, “pero en los dos últimos años bajó la incidencia, “ya que únicamente se presentan por año alrededor de 40 casos».
El funcionario estatal durante su última visita a esta ciudad aseguró que para contrarrestar esta problemática hay un comité de muerte materna interinstitucional, «asimismo, hay medidas que se toman desde primer nivel y dependiendo el hospital y la gravedad, se determinan las acciones conducentes».
Puntualizó que los municipios con mayor número de casos de muerte materna en Michoacán son: Zamora, Zitácuaro y Morelia, toda vez que son hospitales con alta concentración. Las más afectadas son las adolescentes embarazadas con complicaciones y en general las mujeres que no acuden al control prenatal en los centros de salud y, en muchos de los casos, cuándo lo hacen, ya es tarde”.
Finalmente agregó que por ello implementaron la ambulancia aérea, “recientemente trasladamos a una paciente bajo el código máter, vía terrestre de la Huacana a Apatzingán, donde la salvaron los médicos. Por lo que estamos trabajando de manera muy coordinada».
