– Jóvenes requieren ese servicio cuando se desplazan para ir a estudiar a otras ciudades

«Casi una cuarta parte de la población indígena en Michoacán le niegan el derecho a rentar un cuarto-habitación, es decir, un 22.8 %.
La mayoría son jóvenes, quienes requieren de ese servicio debido a desplazamiento de sus comunidades para continuar estudios en otras ciudades, indicó Yolanda Guerrero Barrera, Directora general del Consejo Estatal para Prevenir, Eliminar la Discriminación y la Violencia (COEPREDV).
Dijo que los integrantes de pueblos originarios sufren la discriminación sistemática, a través de la historia, desde la Conquista de América se les sometió a explotación, “pero también se les negó su existencia, buscando borrarlos en todo momento y que solamente quedaran como recuerdo en los libros. Es un hecho, esta discriminación persiste en la actualidad».
Mencionó que en Michoacán se estima que 153 mil 765 personas pertenecen a pueblos originarios, representa un 3.5% de la población total, principalmente son de las etnias purépecha, nahuált, matazincas, mazahuas, otomíes, pirangas y otros más quienes padecen discriminación constante.
Mientras que casi la mitad de la población, el 45.8% piensa que los derechos de los pueblos originarios se respetan poco o nada. El 27.3% de los jóvenes indígenas se han sentido discriminados. En nuestro estado, poco más de la mitad de la población de los jóvenes, es decir el 50.5%, está de acuerdo en que la mayoría de las personas jóvenes son discriminadas por el simple hecho de que son etiquetadas como irresponsables.
