– Consumidores optan por compra de otros alimentos por temporal

Los tortilleros aseguraron que el calor actual mermó hasta 20 por ciento el consumo de su producto entre los clientes, debido a que los consumidores han optado por la compra de otros alimentos derivado del temporal, como por ejemplo la adquisición de bolillo, telera o incluso pan de otras marcas para sustituirlo por lo que ellos realizan.
Luis López García, miembro de la unión de industriales de la masa y la tortilla, puntualizó que las ventas diarias en el sector oscilan entre los 200 a 220 kilos actualmente, cuando anteriormente eran arriba de las 260 diarias. La situación ha propiciado una merma de recursos económicos para el sector que nuevamente tiene que lidiar con la crisis.
“Parece increíble pero mucha gente deja de venir a las tortillerías por 2 factores como es el hecho de que no se quieren exponer en las filas a los rayos del sol y las altas temperaturas y en otros casos al calor que generan las máquinas que usamos para el proceso de producción de masa y tortilla porque necesitamos del fuego para poder terminar el proceso”, explicó.
Comentó que para el sector no solo es urgente que haya lluvias para que incrementen las ventas sino porque también preocupa el hecho de que se rezague la temporada de maíz y que al haber escasez del producto, durante lo que se supone es la cosecha, tengan una elevación de precios en el grano que los vuelva a poner en crisis.
“Esa es una situación que si nos preocupa para finales de este año porque es una realidad que el proceso de producción del maíz va retrasado por la falta de agua y es probable que a partir de esa situación haya especulaciones que nos disparen el precio del insumo como ocurrió durante el 2022 que nos obligó a subir el precio de la tortilla”, finalizó.
