– Buscan fortalecer cultura de inclusión en procesos electorales

“Es indispensable que, por primera vez en la historia, hagamos inclusión del sector Lesbiana, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersexual, Queer (LGBTIAQ+)
porque es una realidad que ha sido severamente discriminado en el paso del tiempo y más en este tipo de procesos. Buscamos que tengan no solo voz y voto, sino también representación política para dar un paso importante en la democracia”, puntualizó Ignacio Hurtado Gómez, consejero presidente del Instituto Electoral de Michoacán (IEM), en el marco de un foro de atención a dicha comunidad efectuado en el Plantel Ferrocarril de la Universidad Capital de Estudios Superiores (UCÉS).
Enfatizó que, anteriormente, se había pensado en la representación únicamente para mujeres y hombres, en donde se había contemplado la lucha por la equidad; sin embargo, no se tomó en cuenta la oportunidad para que una persona del sector LGBTIAQ+ se pudiera incorporar en esa parte y generar una participación y la generación de políticas desde la perspectiva de esas maneras de pensar.
Por su parte, Yolanda Guerrero Barrera, directora del Consejo Estatal para Prevenir y Eliminar la Discriminación y la Violencia (COEPREDV), enfatizó que es indispensable el hecho de que se escuche la voz de un sector que históricamente ha sufrido el apartamiento de este tipo de actividades porque es una realidad que hay mucha discriminación en la actualidad y de allí que han trabajado de manera importante para cambiar la manera de pensar de la población.
Finalmente, Carolina Hernández Ortiz, directora del plantel Ferrocarril de UCÉS, puntualizó que la institución siempre estará dispuesta a recibir este tipo de eventos que son importantes para mejorar las condiciones sociales y de allí que la semana entrante habrá otro foro que estará enfocado en las personas con discapacidad que también merecen ser incluidas en la vida política.
