Buena respuesta dieron los zamoranos de 6 a 80 años de edad, quienes se unieron por una causa mundial para erradicar la polio, participaron con el único interés de apoyar a personas de Afganistán, Pakistán y Nigeria, ya que con su inscripción de 30 pesos facilitaron que se aplicaran vacunas contra esta peligrosa enfermedad.
A nivel mundial esta es la edición número 26 y en Zamora, es la cuarta ocasión que se realiza el evento convocado por el Club Rotario de Inglaterra, maratón a través del cual el año pasado en todo el mundo se logró reunir una importante cantidad económica, reveló Ana Berta Arriaga Marín, integrante del Club Rotario Erandi Zamora.
En 2014 tomaron parte aproximadamente mil seiscientas personas, número que se buscó superar en esta fase con aficionados y nadadores profesionales que nadaron individualmente cien metros los adultos y 25 los pequeños.
En esta ciudad se logró reunir alrededor de 65 personas en una causa común, quienes se dieron cita en las instalaciones de la Escuela Acuática Zamora por la mañana y en el Club Campestre de Zamora por la tarde.
Señaló que es un certamen por iniciativa del Club Rotary International lanzado en los países donde existen delegaciones y lo que se logre recaudar, servirá para ayudar a erradicar la poliomielitis en los países antes señalados, donde a pesar de la lucha de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, aún siguen surgiendo brotes en esas poblaciones marginadas.
